So it sounds like Hugh Laurie's portrayal of Prince George in Blackadder was hilariously accurate?

so accurate it should be in textbooks.

Well bless my soul! Thanks for the namecheck, and as usual a laugh-riot. You would think that the Royals would have retired the name George after this one trashed it. But no, coming soon we'll have George VII. And there is definitely dirtbaggery in those genes.

I love all your Dirtbags but this one was spectacular. Thank you for helping me understand that part of English history that I think I slept through in college. :)

Thinking of sending this to a dear friend, who loves everything about the royal family - but I really like that friend - what should I do?

hahahaha I mean I encourage it, but I won't be held liable for any royal family fights that ensue

This just makes it even harder to wait for my copy of "A Tip for the Hangman" to arrive on Friday. And now I guess I have to rewatch "Bridgerton" because I didn't hate ol' George sufficiently the first time around.

Prince George shows up for like eleven seconds in the Queen Charlotte series and you should have heard me booing loudly from my couch

I can't stop thinking about the King in Tom Hardy's series Taboo.. played by Mark Gatiss . A very gross portrayal, might it be the same King?

Wouldn't 18-year old Prince George have been chasing down wench after wench rather than mistress after mistress? Not sure but I believe a man-boy must be married before a wench becomes a mistress. Nonetheless, Prinny was a dirtbag. Good luck with the book tour!

This is hilarious! Regency lasted 9 years? But those chairs have been around forever. Must subscribe. Love this niche. I wish I had you as a professor in my European history class.
